Kick back the dandruff

when the climate changes my hair hates me and so does mother nature. I get a very dry scalp. I know this is a weird topic, but I had no idea what to do, I tried most things and only found 2 things that have any sort of impact. One more expensive than the other but brilliant nonetheless. This T/Gel Shampoo has completely soothed my scalp. I use it maybe once of twice a week and then I don't get any flakes throughout the whole week. This bottle has also lasted me like 6 weeks so for a price near £7 it is quite expensive.

I remember in previous years using the body shop Ginger anti-dandruff shampoo and have loved this previously but haven't tried it recently. Maybe I'll try that next due to the price difference.

Summer Love Book

If there is one book that you read this summer this is it.

Admittedly, I may have been influenced by the fact that I adore Mcfly, and the wife of the lead singer of Mcfly just so happens to be the writer of this book. However, this does not make it any less brilliant. I'm not all the way through it, but I am already hooked and anything that can get someone hooked in the first couple of chapters has to be made of brilliance.

It's a little bit of a love story, which I wouldn't normally be a fan of, but this is slow and cute. I'm not going to write a synopsis of it because 1. It wouldn't be great 2. There are better ones all over this internet. On the train back from London (a 2 hour journey) I couldn't put it down. I was trying to walk up and down stairs whilst reading, not my greatest plan.

This book is a light read and is just very easy. I have such a short attention span and if a book hasn't gripped me by chapter 3 then I struggle to keep reading it, but I'm on part three at the moment and I read it everyday.

Review: PORE goodness Sake Hot cloth cleansing kit

This is another product that I like to use maybe once or twice a week. I can't explain what this does, it just makes my skin look better, and fresher. Alongside that it feels so smooth. It's also super quick, so after starting my forst full time job I have found it difficult to do a full on skin care treatment, but this just gets me through the week. I picked this up in tesco once just because I'd run out of my recent skincare.

Simple Summer Favourites

I think that I have found my 4 favourite skin care items that I'll use this summer. I have posted a blog about the Ren Gentle Cleansing Milk (HERE) so I won't go on about that one. But now for the other ones:

1. Simple Spotless Skin Triple Action Face Wash. A few weeks ago I had an awful breakout on my forehead and chin. Instead of spending a fortune on some hyped up skin clearance regime, I thought I would go back to the basics from when I was 13 and my skin was in desperate need and this is certainly one of those trusted basic products. I love it just because it's so simple to use, you just splash your face, gently massage this onto the problem area/areas, and then rinse off with luke warm water. Depending on how bad my skin is I use it every night and on better weeks I use it every other day and sometime every 2 days. This started to help instantly, I also thought that it would be quite stripping of my skin, but it hasn't given me any other problems.

2. Pore Goodness Sake Hot Cloth Cleansing Kit. This is something that I'm not sure what it does other than clear pores. I'm sure there is probably other products out there that work faster/better but for an everyday budget product this is amazing. Once I have rinsed this off of my skin, it is so smooth and soft, I mainly use this to relax my face after work. You know when you get home and your skin feels disgusting from all the things touching your face during the day (hands and heat) and not forgetting the make up that has melted away. This just helps to revive my skin.

3. Finally, Garnier Miracle Skin Cream. I like this as a sort of base/primer for my foundation. It keeps my skin moisturised all day long, and helps to keep my foundation stay put. I know this is anti-ageing but does this really matter?

Work Those Lashes

Eyelashes are my most annoying makeup problems. I struggle to find a way to keep my eyelashes curved all day and a mascara that I have fallen in love with. I have found a way to encourage the curve to open up my eyes throughout the majority of the day so here are 3 tips to keeping up those eyelashes;

1. Use eyelash curlers more than once. I like to use them first, do all of my make up, curl them again and then a 3rd time. This will make them look really weird but after 5 minutes they just look open and wide eyed. I've found this technique to be really effective and I have no problem with my eyelashes staying open. I've also heard that if you heat up the eyelash curlers slightly to begin with, it's meant to work like curling tongs and hold them open, but when you wake up at about 7 in the morning, I can't ever be bothered to wait for them to heat up.

2. Use a lightweight mascara or a waterproof mascara to lock it in and not weigh it down. On an everyday basis, I like to use Rimmel Scandaleyes show off mascara because it's lightweight and it's easy to just coat your lashes once and they have a natural finish alongside separating the eyelashes as well as darkening them. When I'm going out, I like to use Maybelline the Falsies waterproof mascara because it's just a little more heavy duty and makes the lashes look extra special.

3. When curling your lashes, tilt the curlers towards the lid of the eye. I find that this just adds a little lift and curl, it also contributes to making the lashes curved for longer.
