I recently (a few days ago) cut my hair, from medium to short hair. I did originally have really long hair and just wanted a complete change.
A lot of people wouldn't take this step because they're worried about how it'll look. This is just to prove that having shorter hair, is not the end of the world.
The things you have to keep in mind are 1. It's hair, and it'll grow back. It's not just going to stay that length, it will grow. I would say, if you are unsure then cut it after summer and then by the time you get to the next summer holiday, you'll have your longer hair back.
2. After having it cut, try different styles. Make it wavy, curly, straighten it, or even put it up in some way. Don't confine yourself because you think that by having shorter hair, you can't do anything with it.
3. Make sure that when getting it cut, you also have some sort of texture/movement cut into it. I personally think that having a few layers put in, helps the short hair have some bounce, and just looks like there is more going on.
4. Finally, never put yourself down because of your hair. It's one thing out of you as a human being. No one is going to judge you because you think your hair looks awful. Life is not over after one hair cut.
I suppose you could just wear a hat at all times if you really don't like it- I'm kidding of course, unless you think that you could get away with it. But in all seriousness, the world isn't going to end, and if it's too short, it'll grow- just remember that.

Favourite: Ren Evercalm Gentle Cleansing Milk
I've used this now for a good couple of weeks, and I have to say; I'm so impressed. I'm not the best at a skincare routine, I'm much more into makeup and am just way too lazy to properly take off my makeup. I moisturise and cleanse a little, but nothing major, I don't have time for face masks and I certainly can't be bothered to do cleansing toning and this and that every time but this has brought skin care into a whole new light.
This cleansing milk is so nourishing, as soon as you start using it, you can really feel it relieving your skin. I've got slightly sensitive skin and wanted something that would take away some of the redness I get on my chin and cheeks. This has pretty much solved this problem, it calms my skin, moisturises and seems to clear out my pores.
I am in love with this, I don't use it to take off my make up, but I do use it to make sure all of my make up is off. I 100% recommend this product to anyone that wants a softer and more sensitive way to take off their makeup.

New to tanning
I am just that pasty girl that has been scared to use any form of tanning product due to the mistrust in products and the lack of knowledge of how to actually apply fake tan. I seem to reflect the sun when I'm outside because I am so white. So much so that I can take a selfie outside and transform into voldemort as my nose just disappears.
I saw this product on one of viviannadoesmakeup's videos and it looked safe, especially as summer is round the corner, I feel that I need to get my trust in self tanning products up so that I can stop blinding people when I'm outside. This is a product that I feel has eased me into tanning. I didn't exfoliate or anything before, in fact I'd been out shopping all day (this was so that if it had gone horribly wrong the next morning I could just rinse it all off). It gave me a glow that I didn't expect. I wouldn't say it tanned me, maybe I didn't put enough on I'm not sure, but I was definitely glowing.
I have 2 issues with this, 1. I wanted it to last longer than it did 2. It dried so fast on the skin that there was a moment of panic between me and my sister as to whether it would come out streaky, however this was nothing of the sort, as long as you keep rubbing. Being a jeans girl, my legs get virtually no sun whatsoever, this means I am almost transparent in colour, even though it took a little bit of work to make sure there were no streaks on my legs, it was easy to apply and just looked unbelievably natural, none of the wotsit legs were going on. It dries super fast, and you can see exactly where you have applied the tan as it is instant and doesn't take 3 hours to develop and then you realise that you have tanned everything but the one streak from the back of your knee to your heel.
I 100% recommend this product to anyone that just doesn't want to be paper white because it does not make you look 2 different races. I would also use a tanning mitt to apply this because it dries super fast and you don't want the residue left on your hands.

The Bag Lady
I am usually a one bag does everything and goes everywhere type of person but a recent shopping trip with my sister left me with 3 very different bags that will probably be the only bags I use for the rest of the year.
I am so incredibly fussy with the bags I choose, I tend to stick to one bag (usually stolen from my sister) and it goes everywhere with me, does everything and holds everything I could ever need. My current bag has been used for the last 6 months and it has been to school and back so many times and has carried way too much stuff everytime, I'm surprised that it's not just fell apart on me.
Primark- £8.00 |
This was actually the first bag I bought (the black one) and I didn't realise how similar it was to my actual bag (the purple one, my most loved bag). This has to be the same bag just in different colour and improved. I say improved because it has more structure and is more of a satchel rather than a deflated balloon. This means it doesn't flop open in the middle of a restaurant and have everything fall out at the most inappropriate times of the day (usually when I'm in a rush). It's actually fairly roomy in there aswell and will probably end up looking like my purple one anyway (which will probably be kept just in case).
New Look- £14.99 |
This satchel was much more of an impulse buy this time. I saw this and just couldn't leave it in the shop. I don't actually own a bright coloured bag, they all seem to be either black or just a darker colour. I felt this will be needed to add some form of colour to a monochrome outfit and will add a little oomph to a dull day. Again it is another satchel over the shoulder styled bag (shocker, can you tell I like one particular style and I don't really stray from that).
New Look- £14.99 |
I had to build courage to buy this one because it really is out of my comfort zone. That little gold chain was making me hold back, I wasn't sure how it would come off when wearing it. The pastel colours are, in reality, a lot brighter than this and make an outfit look classy. It is another over the shoulder type bag, but it sits at the hips on me. It doesn't have too much room, but how much room do you need at a dinner night or going out on the town.
Whats your favourite type of bag?

Soap and Glory Super Cat Liner
This is a new favourite, that I never thought I would try.
I know many bloggers have said that the soap and glory make up range is doing everything it says it would and should, but I never thought I would get away from the l'oreal superfine liner if I'm honest. I have used that liner ever since I was in year 10 (a few years ago now) but I have to say, this liner might just be trumping it right now.
This liquid eyeliner has not got the finest point ever, but it certainly makes it easier to apply. I'm not into thick liner, but I am into winged liner right now, and this just makes the wings so much simpler and also the colour is jet black. I always found that the superfine liner didn't come out as black as I would like when on top of eyeshadow, you really have to work it into the eyelid, and then would run out super quickly. I have only just picked this up for £6 in boots but I'm hoping this will have a longer life than the l'oreal liner.
One negative thing is that, if it is put straight onto the eyelid, it tends to smudge a little bit, and leave some residue on the top of the lid. This works brilliantly on top of eyeshadow though.
I will have to report back in 2 months time and I'll let you know how long it lasted. But so far it has been the best eyeliner I have.

Staple Lipsticks
I think lip sticks are very particular and should only be worn if you feel comfortable in them, and for me every lipstick is different, whether it be the colour, texture or longevity of the lipstick. In this post I've tried to pull together 4 categories of lipsticks that are different budget styles.
Rimmel London Lasting Finish by Kate lipstick in 107
Lets jump right in at the deep end with a bold statement lip colour. This is my favourite lip colour and have used this for a couple of years now, ever since I was becoming more adventurous with my make up. This is the Rimmel London Kate Moss Collection matte lipstick in 107. This is a deep velvety red that dries onto the lips. I do believe that it dries the lips to the point where you will have to carry a lip balm type of product but it's worth it for the seductive colour and texture.
Rimmel London Lasting Finish lip liner in Black Tulip
Following on from the Rimmel London lipstick, this lip liner just holds the colour for longer and more defined. I only put the lip liner on if I am going out as it's not completely necessary, just makes it more glamorous.
I like to put these two together because they're a fairly similar match, not 100% but close enough that it makes the lipstick glamorous and amazing for nights out and about.

This picture makes the colour look redder than it really is |
Rimmel London Lasting Finish Lipstick in 016 Heart Breaker
This is a much pinker, with a hint of red, colour and more sheer. It isn't moisturising, but it's not drying. The only downfall to this girly pink lipstick is the longevity of it. I wouldn't suggesting have a meal out because you will be left with a lip liner effect and no colour on the lips at all. I have to say this picture makes the lipstick look way more bright red than it actually is. On the other hand, this lipstick does seem to have blue undertones which makes the teeth look even whiter.
Topshop lipstick in Ooh La La
This is a newer lipstick for me, something new I have ventured into. I usually like to stick with something more buttery and neutral, or go all out bold and wear either Mac Rebel or the kate moss lipstick I mentioned in the first paragraph. However for spring I thought I would try something lighter, and this immediately sprung out at me. I have to admit that I thought it would be more pink, but as you can see it's more orangey/coral and I have fallen in love. It's not too pigmented so it doesn't look like you've had to apply it a thousand times because once the colour settles onto the lips, it looks wonderful.
The last thing I think every girl should need to use at some time in her life is a lip balm. This is the Burt's Bee's lip balm, and it is fab. I never used to like vaseline because I thought it felt greasy and I'm just not a fan, however this lip balm just feels super moisturising and isn't sticky afterwards. The other thing I like is that you don't have to use your fingers to apply it. I'm not one for using fingers to apply any make up because all I can think about is all the dirt that has to be left on there, whether you've just washed them or not.

Bourjois Healthy Balance Powder
This is my new favourite powder. I really only use powder to set the foundation onto my skin, and so a cheaper one is usually my choice (Rimmel stay matte powder). I absolutely love the warming effect this brings to the paler skinned, especially coming into spring. I find that I can look a little washed out if I'm not careful, and as some foundations oxidise I think it turns a little orange, but this just brings a tiny bit of colour to the porcelain touch without an orange glow. This is in the lightest shade because I don't use it to cover up anything, but just lighting dusting over the skin is just glowing and radiant.
